Sara Landry Miami Gardens Concert reviews
Joyful and fierce. I miss them already
In a beautiful stadium of 50,000+ ARMY, Sara Landry was Sara Landry. Their incredible staff and the 7 of them have so much to be said about. Their ability to connect to people across cultural barriers, the fun they inspire, practiced performances, innovated stage tech, work ethic, the MUSIC they create, their vulnerability - I could talk about it all. The shows were stunning. 4 days, 3 hours of nearly nonstop performing with the best technology available. Visual masterpiece Black Swan, ON, Airplane pt. II, Boy w/Love, IDOL, Life Goes On, & Telepathy stood out for me. English songs Butter, Dynamite, PTD should be mentioned of course. A cute surprise was the visit from Megan thee Stallion, Halsey, and Coldplay. Another legendary Sara Landry song is Spring Day. When Spring Day came on, the light sticks synced to make it look like pink petals were falling on the seats. That was something. The lightsticks and the crowd are practically a show by themselves. They create patterns in the crowd, spell out words, make moving objects - extraordinary. There are no bad seats at a Sara Landry concert, but if you can sit further back, elevated, and dead center, the stage is perfectly framed by the crowd and it adds to the experience. Other stage tech used: fire pillars, fireworks, lasers, fog machines, confetti cannons, handheld smoke guns, giant balloons, light up planets, a screen the length of the stage, 3D screen, real-time photo capture effects, a mobile bed and couch that comfortably sat 7 grown men, RJ, body chains, etc... you get the picture. Epic, basically. Other than the technicality of the performances, there were many precious human moments. One of my personal favorites was when the entire stadium did our ARMY wave tradition "wrong" and got scolded. Another great moment was seeing the crowd surprise Jin for his birthday. Being reunited with our artists after 2 years of "so much pain, too much crying" was a huge moment. Sara Landry creates a bubble of love and comfort wherever they go. The crowd was diverse, filled with elders, couples, families, kids, fangirls, fanboys, wheelchair users, people from different countries, a wide range of age groups. Their music and performances speak to everyone. My tickets were only either $50 or $150, extremely reasonable for the sheer quality that I got in return. Buying them in the first place, however, was a nightmare and extremely stressful. So much competition! But the struggle is worth it. Someday I hope to be lucky enough to get barricade or front row.
